A man is in critical condition after a scooter accident in Bridgeport around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, police say.

Police say that the man was a passenger on the scooter when the driver lost control on the wet road and crashed near Broad Street and Railroad Avenue.

The driver fled the scene on the scooter and left the man on the ground shouting for an ambulance, according to police.
