CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — One man has been arrested after a vehicle pursuit took place in Chatham County's I-95.

At approximately 7:26 p.m. on Saturday, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) assisted the Pooler Police Department (PPD) in a vehicle pursuit along I-95, mile marker 96.

According to GSP, the suspect vehicle suffered a tire deflation, which prompted the driver to pull over to the shoulder of the interstate. The driver was reportedly carrying a weapon and threatened to shoot himself.

Officials said the driver also threatened to shoot police if they attempted to stop him.

The driver was reportedly convinced to drop the firearm and surrender. He was later arrested without incident by the PPD.
