The Jammu and Kashmir education department has launched an inquiry after a video on social media showed students at a government school in Doda singing an “inappropriate song” during their morning assembly, The Indian Express reported.

The video showed students at the Government Middle School Sichal singing: “Pukarti Ma Bharti, khoon se tilak karo, goliyon se aarti (Mother India calls, mark your forehead with blood and use bullets for worship)”.

A teacher at the school was seen showing the assembly in the background, and saying that there had been a new classification of students after their results, The Indian Express reported.
