A Birmingham city centre car park has promised to issue 'immediate refunds' to drivers who were mistakenly overcharged last weekend.

NCP has introduced a new pricing structure across some of its sites - removing a 'dual tariff board option'.

However, this price increase initially resulted in Birmingham Children's Hospital staff, who are not due to be affected, being charged £5 extra for a daily rate. All drivers can park there, but hospital staff are exempt from the price increase.

A children's hospital staff member said 'everyone' was charged £12.95 instead of the usual £7.95 day rate on Saturday, Oct 25. Clinical support worker Sandra Hingley says she was told this was "now the price", sparking fears over rising costs.
