TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 21-year-old woman was killed in a crash involving several vehicles on I-359 early Sunday morning, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

Police stated appears the victim, a Tuscaloosa resident, was in a crash around 2 a.m. with another vehicle. She was standing outside her car with the driver of the other vehicle when a five-vehicle crash occurred. Vehicles in the second crash struck the woman and the other driver.

The woman died at the scene. Five people were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. Police stated none of their injuries appear to be life-threatening.

Tuscaloosa and Northport police officers started investigating the circumstances surrounding the crashes.
