A four-year-old girl child was allegedly abducted and raped in West Bengal's Hooghly district on Friday, November 7.
The police identified the girl's grandfather as the accused for the sexual assault and arrested him on Sunday, November 9, News18 reported citing sources.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Friday, Nov 7, when the girl was resting beside her parents near Tarakeswar railway station, where the family takes shelter.
She was allegedly kidnapped sexually harassed after that.
The family reportedly found a cut near the child's throat and then approached the local police station. She was also taken for medical examination to a hospital.
News18 reported that the police did not take her to the hospital. The girl's family rushed to the hospital themselves.
