Dan Auerbach has had a busy year, and it's paying off.

The Akron native and frontman of The Black Keys has earned his fifth Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical — recognition that caps a prodigious 2025.

Auerbach, a previous winner in the category in 2013, is nominated alongside producers Blake Mills, Cirkut, Dijon and Sounwave for the 2026 Grammy Awards, which will be held Feb. 1 in Los Angeles.

The Recording Academy praised Auerbach for channeling "lived-in, visceral blues-rock" that blends authenticity with innovation — a sound that has defined much of his career since his early days in Akron basements and bars.
