BENGALURU, MYSURU: A male tiger that repeatedly attacked people and caused the death of humans in Saragur taluk has been caught, said Forest, Ecology and Environment Minister Eshwar B Khandre.
The minister said forest officials have reported that the tiger, which had attacked three people in the past month leading to their deaths, has now been captured.
Khandre said higher authorities have been instructed to check both the post-mortem reports of the deceased persons and the DNA of this tiger to confirm that the captured tiger is indeed the one that caused the loss of precious lives around Hediyala, Moleyur and Nugu.
As attacks by tigers on humans and cattle have increased along the edges of forests in Bandipur and Nagarahole, safaris in those areas was suspended and staff were deployed
