DENVER (KDVR) — Two people are dead after an early-morning crash in south Denver Sunday morning, according to the Denver Police Department.

The crash happened on the Interstate 225 southbound ramp to Interstate 25 southbound, Denver police said in an X post.

The call of the crash came in just before 4 a.m. and involved one vehicle, which FOX31's Kasia Kerridge could see flipped over on the side of the road.

Traffic in the area was backed up as of 8:30 a.m., and police advised drivers to use alternate routes.

The southbound I-225 ramp to I-25 is closed while police investigate and clear the crash.

Police do not yet know the cause of the crash.
