Talk about performers and an appreciative auditor going back a long time!
The first time I remember seeing Christine Ebersole was when she so cunningly played Ado Annie in a Broadway-bound production of “Oklahoma!” I caught at Pantage’s Theatre in LA in July 1979.
She became a favorite that day.
Move forward about seven years to 1986, and I saw a marvelous trio, Montgomery, Plant, and Stritch in some Manhattan club. They were another group that made their way to New York from a thriving cabaret community in Houston and they were terrific, with greatarrangements supplied by the performer who also played the piano, Billy Stritch.
To theater folk, Ebersole and Stritch are household names, and beloved at that.
