Allstonia reports on an idea by the city and a group called Boston Public Living Room to repurpose seven parking spaces on Franklin Street, between Holton and Fern streets in Lower Allston, for an area for "greenery, arts or socializing."
The group has used the spaces in the past for pop-up events.
For the last several years, a group of volunteers has set up a one-space summer parklet on Cohasset Street in Roslindale Square - a block down from where the city also shut of an entire section of Birch Street for a permanent pedestrian plaza.
Page on which to discuss the Franklin Street proposal.
