A police cruiser crashed into a utility pole on the way to a call in Canton, Massachusetts, on Sunday morning, officials said.

An officer in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital and later released, according to the Canton Police Department.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, reported about 10:15 a.m. near the industrial park at 480 Neponset Street, police said. The damaged cruiser was taken out of service.

The cruiser crashed while trying to turn, police said. They didn't share more about the crash, including the nature of the call the cruiser was responding to.

No power outages were caused by the impact with the utility pole, police said. Inspectors were evaluating the pole's condition.
