Each year on November 11, Australians pause to remember the service and sacrifice of those who have fought for the nation and Perth will hold ceremonies across the city where locals can reflect, remember and pay tribute.

This year marks 107 years since the Armistice that ended the First World War. The ricocheting impact of past wars continues to be felt; ahead of this Tuesday’s Remembrance Day, there’s been a call to help identify World War I Diggers who were found in a mass grave in France.

Melbourne amateur historian Lambis Englezos drove efforts which led to the 2008 location of the grave containing remains of 250 men lost since 1916.
