Students and Franklin & Marshall College are still without power after a transformer malfunctioned on Saturday morning.
The college said “significant progress” has been made and it is “confident” full power will be restored to the campus late on Sunday. Before reinstating power, a temporary, planned power outage is required. The college said it will notify the campus and community 30 minutes in advance, and the outage could last two hours.
During the planned power outage, only emergency lighting will work. The college will prioritize restoring power to residence halls first.
The Ben Franklin Dining Hall is open until 9 p.m. and will have power through the outage. Franklin & Marshall is encouraging students to visit the dining hall while work continues to restore electricity.
