SALINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) -Two people are dead and three others were critically injured in a four-vehicle crash Friday evening on Michigan Avenue in Washtenaw County.

In a post on social media , Michigan State Police said troopers from the Brighton Post responded to the crash at Michigan Avenue and Willow Road at approximately 7:30 p.m.

A 56-year-old Brooklyn man driving a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling westbound on Michigan Avenue when he attempted to pass a 2024 Volvo semi-truck with trailer driven by a 57-year-old Birmingham man, according to preliminary investigation.

During the attempted pass, the Dodge Ram struck a 2012 Jeep Cherokee traveling eastbound. The Jeep was driven by a 36-year-old Tecumseh woman with her 2-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter as passengers. The
