Budgam, Nov 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Sunday took a jibe at National Conference Member Parliament (MP) Aga Syed Ruhullah for staying away from the election campaigning in Budgam stating that “he preferred Germany’s air but I prefer Budgam’s air to ensure peoples issues could be resolved.”
Speaking to reporters after addressing a spirited rally in Ompora, Budgam, Omar quipped that Ruhullah has “preferred Germany’s air over Budgam’s,” while reaffirming his own commitment to the district and its people. “Nobody forced Ruhullah. He preferred to go to Germany, perhaps he likes Germany’s air more than Budgam’s air. I, however, like Budgam’s air and want to stay here for its welfare and to resolve its issues,” Omar said, drawing laughter and cheers from the crowd.
