CHICAGO — Indiana basketball pulled out a 100-77 win over Marquette on Sunday at the United Center with one hand tied behind its back.
The Hoosiers' starting five spent less than five minutes on the floor together with the team in near constant foul trouble.
Indiana coach Darian DeVries faced a tricky balancing act with four players still sidelined from injuries. Marquette avoided a similar fate from the refs’ quick whistle thanks to a deeper lineup, but the 29 free throws they hit weren’t enough.
DeVries’ team knocked down 14 3-pointers, the most in a single game since an 84-82 win over Iowa on Feb. 17, 2018, with Tucker DeVries and Lamar Wilkerson hitting six each. Wilkerson scored 15 points of his 23 points in the second half to make sure the Golden Eagles never got within 10 poin
