COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Turn a corner in Doherty High School, and you’ll come upon an extraordinary hallway.

The “Hall of Honor” started 10 years ago as a mural dedicated to some of Colorado Springs war heroes. As of last year, it now also contains the largest collection of naval plaques -- in the entire U.S.!

This collection -- 220 strong and counting! -- is a passion project for retired Navy Capt. Greg Thomas, the school’s senior naval science instructor for Doherty’s Junior ROTC.
