CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A bad season for the Browns got worse Sunday as they lost to the lowly New York Jets 27-20.
Cleveland, which allowed 6 sacks, dropped to 2-7 on the season. They outgained the Jets 278-169 but also committed 10 penalties.
New York won its 2nd straight despite trading away 2 top defensive stars earlier this week, Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, in a massive rebuilding effort.
The Jets passed for just 42 yards.
The Browns also hurt themselves with 2 critical defensive penalties late as the Jets were trying to kill the clock.
Breece Hall put the Jets ahead for good early in the 4th quarter with a 42-yard touchdown to make it 24-17 New York.
Jerry Jeudy got his first TD reception of the season in the second quarter, tying the game 14-14.
