CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WVUE) - The Saints’ four-game losing streak is over. New Orleans was victorious on the road Sunday (Nov. 9), topping the Carolina Panthers, 17-7, at Bank of America Stadium.
In his second start of the season, quarterback Tyler Shough threw for a Saints rookie record 282 yards, with two touchdown passes.
The second scoring pass came in the fourth quarter, when Shough found Juwan Johnson for a 30-yard score.
The Saints (2-8) led at halftime for only the second time all season. Shough was responsible, connecting with Chris Olave on a 62-yard touchdown strike for a 10-7 lead.
New Orleans’ defense also excelled Sunday. The Saints’ held Panthers running back Rico Dowdle to 53 yards on 18 carries, a 2.9-yard average. Dowdle’s longest run was for 14 yards and his 5-yard scorin
