HONOLULU (Island News) -- SNAP benefits have begun to return for Hawaii residents after a federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration to release full funding for November by Friday.
The order from U.S. District Judge John McConnell Jr. on Thursday, Nov. 6, for the Trump administration to fully fund Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this month was appealed almost immediately. Nearly 42 million Americans have lost access to SNAP benefits following the federal government shutdown that began on Oct. 1.
