Several people were injured on Sunday after two passenger trains collided between Pezinok and Bratislava in Slovakia, disrupting rail traffic, official said.

According to state-run passenger carrier ZSSK, cited by the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR), the accident occurred shortly after train REX 1814, travelling from Nitra to Bratislava, left Pezinok station and collided head-on with train Ex 620. The impact caused several carriages to derail.

Local media reported that nearly 30 passengers sustained injuries, some requiring hospital treatment. Authorities have not confirmed any fatalities.
