A wave of low pressure and a warm front will bring rain showers to New Jersey Sunday night, followed by a strong cold front that will usher in the coldest air of the autumn season so far.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say showers will continue across much of New Jersey this afternoon and early evening as a warm front lifts northward.

After a brief break in precipitation this evening, another round of showers is expected later tonight as the primary low pressure system and cold front approach.

This second round of rain will move through between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. from southwest to northeast, with rainfall amounts generally between one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch, forecasters say.
