A MAN has been denied bail in court, accused of possessing a loaded and illegal gun and drugs in a car near Tamworth.
Harrison Chard is set to remain in custody on eight charges stemming from his arrest in a random roadside stop on Friday night in Manilla.
Police allege Chard, aged 20, had a loaded shortened gun with him in the vehicle when he was stopped in Kanangra Road about 6.20pm on November 7.
The 20-year-old was not required to enter pleas when he appeared in a weekend bail court session in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday, November 8.
He was refused bail by Magistrate George Zdenkowski on eight firearms, stolen goods and drug-related charges.
Oxley Superintendent Dave Cooper told the Leader the arrest saw "an illegal firearm removed from the community".
