Most Ohioans head south to Hilton Head Island during the summer months. But the best time to head to the sea islands of South Carolina is when the humidity, bugs, high temps, and hopefully, hurricane threats ebb like a low tide. The Low Country calls to me from the peaceful waters winding through the marsh to the sea grass bending in the gentle breezes and the rays of sun peeking through the majestic, serene pines. Autumn is absolutely amazing as the last remaining sun-kissed summer days fade into winter. Throw in some gators, snakes, and birds of prey along some desolate roads and remote marshes and swamps, and you have set the scene…turning a picture-perfect vacay into a murder mystery.
