IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa women’s basketball defeated Evansville 119-43 on Sunday afternoon.

That marks the program’s single-game scoring record, and the margin of victory record for the program.

The success came from the ability to pass the ball. The Hawkeyes had 31 assists on 42 field goals.

Sophomore guard, Chit-Chat Wright had 10 of those assists. Head coach Jan Jensen praised Wright’s abilities.

“The game is slow for her. She’s fast and quick, but she makes it slow. She loves passing,” said Jensen.

“The way this team is structured and organized, we love to pass the ball to each other, and would rather get the assist than the score,” said Wright.

Up next, the Hawkeyes host Drake on Thursday.
