Friends and relatives of one of two men found shot to death in what police said was a double homicide in an auto dealership in Shelby Township have raised tens of thousands for the victim’s family.

The men were identified over the weekend as Marvan Batoo, 40, of Shelby Township, and Ghaith Baban, 48, of Clinton Township. Their bodies were discovered by customers Friday at Star Auto Sales on Ryan Road.

Baban was described by his brother/bestfriend Sameer Najeeb as a hardworking “good soul” in a donation page.

Najeeb said Baban “was a great man and an even greater father to his kids and family.”

As of Sunday evening, more than 450 people had donated $51,500 towards a $70,000 goal for funeral expenses and his family on a GoFundMe.com page.
