WASHINGTON, D.C. – The federal government shutdown, now in its 40th day, may soon come to an end, according to multiple news outlets. On Sunday, the Senate reached a bipartisan agreement to fund the government until the end of January.

CNN and POLITICO is reporting that the deal includes a scheduled vote on government health care subsidies in December. Democrats have insisted the Trump administration extend these subsidies for a year to prevent health care premiums from rising.

The proposed agreement would also reverse President Donald Trump’s firings of federal employees and prevent similar actions in the future. Additionally, it ensures that SNAP benefits are funded until the end of September 2026.
