The rake shortage which is increasing the waiting time for trains at the Yellow Line has now caught up with Namma Metro’s Pink Line, pushing its commercial launch further by nearly five months — marking yet another delay in the city’s most awaited metro corridor. Originally slated for launch in 2020, the 21.25 km Kalena Agrahara–Nagawara Pink Line has seen its deadline slide multiple times — first to late 2025, then to March 2026, and now to May 2026. Despite the elevated stretch being ready for operations, not a single train has yet arrived for trial runs.
