WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem State announced Tuesday that head football coach Robert Massey will step down at the end of the year.
Massey, who has led the Rams since 2019, informed the university of his decision and will officially resign effective Dec. 31, 2025, according to a release from WSSU. He will continue coaching through December and assist with transition planning related to recruiting, player development and program operations.
“Coach Massey has served our student-athletes with dedication and care,” Chancellor Bonita J. Brown said in the release. “We are grateful for his leadership and for the positive impact he has had on Rams Football.”
The Rams finished the 2025 season with a 4-6 record after going 7-3 the previous year.
