That quiet moment mattered. He hasn’t confronted his mother yet about the truth that she may have been responsible for his father’s death, but it’s clear the weight of it still lingers. This season has done a stronger job of keeping Colter’s family history present in the story instead of leaving it in the background. In typical Colter fashion, he tucks away his feelings to help a woman named “Gracie” find her boyfriend, Trey Landry.
