Stamford Police say they are investigating a crash killed a 54-year-old Stamford resident on Saturday night.

A person was hit by a car on High Ridge Road at 10:30 p.m. while crossing the street, according to police.

The pedestrian was taken to Stamford Hospital where he died of injuries early on Sunday morning, police say.

Officials say there are no crosswalks in the area where the person was crossing the street.

Police say the driver stayed on-scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.
