WEST PLAINS, Mo. (KY3) -West Plains police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday night.

According to the West Plains Police Department, officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 2600 block of Paula Drive at around 7:30 p.m

Once on scene, a 23-year-old man was found with gunshot-related injuries. He later died, police said.

Police said a suspect connected to the incident was identified and interviewed by investigators. The suspect was released pending the filing of formal charges.

At this time, investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
