A new claim from a frequent Samsung firmware watcher suggests the company is working on a completely redesigned biometric system for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, and it may be the most serious direct response to Apple’s Face ID that Samsung has attempted yet.

The feature is referred to internally as Polar ID v1.0, according to leaker @SPYGO19726. They say they discovered references to the system inside early test builds of S27 Ultra firmware.
