SARNIA - Alessandro Di Iorio's second goal of the game, scored 45 seconds into overtime, lifted the Sarnia Sting to a 6-5 Ontario Hockey League victory over the visiting North Bay Battalion on Sunday at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
Easton Walos, Ben Pickell, Jack Van Volsen and Liam Beamish also scored for the Sting (6-8-3-1), who trailed 2-1 after the first period, but led 3-2 heading into the third. Mitch Young and Beckham Edwards each chipped in with two assists.
Lirim Amidovski scored twice for the Battalion (9-9-1-0), while Ihnat Pazii, Evgeny Dubrovtsev and Shamar Moses netted singles. Dubrovtsev added a pair of assists.
The Sting, who went 3-for-3 on the power play, were outshot 33-25. The Battalion went 2-for-7 on the power play.
