In a statement released Sunday evening, officials with the Fullerton Police Department denied assisting a federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who reportedly brandished his weapon at a female motorist earlier in the day on the streets of Santa Ana.
The incident, according to the department’s statement, occurred at around 12:18 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Santa Ana Boulevard and Shelton Street.
Fullerton officials said one of their officers was returning to the station after taking an inmate to the Orange County Jail, when he witnessed a man exit his vehicle while pointing a firearm at the driver of the vehicle behind him.
