One of the state's biggest employers, Liberty Bell Bay (LBB), has signed a non-binding deal to hand over operations of the manganese smelter to an overseas steel group.

A spokesperson for LBB, formerly known as TEMCO, confirmed news of the five-year deal with Steel International Trading Company (SITC) on Monday afternoon.
