A stolen Lexus was made to stop after being 'boxed in' following a police chase on the M6. Members of Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) sprang into action on the M6 southbound near Rugby.

They clocked the car but it led them on a chase onto the M1 in Northamptonshire. Officers from the Northants Roads Policing Unit. joined the chase.

Together they used a specialist tactics to bring the car to a stop - boxing it in on the motorway. The driver, who has not been identified, was arrested at the scene on Saturday night, November 8.

"The vehicle had been stolen in a keyless Theft in Birmingham," the team explained. "We followed the vehicle onto the M1 into Northamptonshire and were joined by officers from Northants Roads Policing Unit.
