RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- Over a dozen people, mostly juveniles, were hurt after a bus overturned on the highway in Running Springs.
The crash happened on Highway 330 just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, shutting down the highway in both directions for hours as crews investigated.
In total, 19 people were transported to the hospital with injuries, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol. Three of the patients had severe injuries, and the rest were minor injuries.
The bus was carrying a church group to Santa Ana. It's believed that about 36 adults and teenagers were on board.
Witnesses say the bus caught fire before it crashed and flipped over.
