Betty Harford, who had significant roles in two popular 1980s TV series, has died at the age of 98, reports say.

A friend of Harford tells The Hollywood Reporter that the actress died on Nov. 2 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Another friend, Wendy Mitchell, posted on social media that Harford had died “peacefully with family at her side.”

Harford’s TV career began in 1951 with an appearance on “Fireside Theatre.” She had small roles in several other shows, including “The Twilight Zone,” “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” “Gunsmoke” and “Room 222.”

Her most notable roles were as legal secretary Mrs. Nottingham in “The Paper Chase,” in which she appeared in 45 episodes, and as Hilda Gunnerson on “Dynasty,” appearing in 34 episodes.
