SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A powerful cold front is pushing south across Florida with cold Arctic air behind it. The first result of that front was rain Sunday, ranging from nearly a half inch at SRQ (0.45”) to 0.23” on the north side of Lakewood Ranch to barely measurable amounts ay Nokomis (0.02”).

The windy-cold and dry air behind this front is next for us behind this front. Monday and Tuesday are First Alert Weather Days for the cold and windy conditions.

Winds continue from the North Monday, gusting to 20-30 mph. Temps will fall during the day on Monday. Our coldest time is Tuesday, with morning temps near record lows.
