Three teams that were in the thick of a very competitive Huron League volleyball championship will represent the Monroe County Region as the state tournament continues this week.

Milan and Flat Rock will play in the Division 2 Regional that Flat Rock is hosting and St. Mary Catholic Central will compete in the Division 3 event at Clinton.

Flat Rock and SMCC shared the Huron League title, but Milan played a major role in that.

Flat Rock, which had never beaten SMCC in school history before, did it twice this season.

But the Rams could not figure out Milan, which tripped Flat Rock twice.

They could meet again in the regional finals.

Milan (18-8) opens with a match against Dearborn Divine Child at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11.
