The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecast cold wave to severe cold wave conditions over several parts of central and northern India during the next few days, while isolated heavy rainfall is expected over southern states, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
According to the IMD, cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of western Madhya Pradesh from November 10 to 12. Cold wave conditions are also likely in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh during November 10–12; eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during November 10–14; Vidarbha on November 12 and 13; and Jharkhand and Odisha on November 11 and 12. Minimum temperatures in northwest India are expected to remain below normal by 2-3°C during the period.
