Margaret DeLillo-Storey has been tapped as Stark County's military veteran of the year for 2025.
DeLillo-Storey served as an officer in the U.S. Army reserves for 23 years.
She was deployed in 1990 overseas during Operation Desert Storm.
PERRY TWP. – Margaret DeLillo-Storey was a 28-year-old staff sergeant when she went through U.S. Army officer candidate school in late 1989 and early 1990 at Fort Benning, Georgia, a program primarily geared toward men.
Strict curriculum and long training days-nights were the norm, as one of a handful of about 50 women to graduate from the strenuous 22-week training. Approximately 100 men in her class successfully completed the program.
