ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - Several schools in western North Carolina announced class changes as an artic blast arrives in our area.

FOX Carolina’s First Alert Meteorologists said cold air and some light snow showers are forecasted for the mountains.

The following school districts are being impacted on Monday:

Buncombe County Schools:

Enka District on 2-hour delay.

Erwin District on 2-hour delay.

North Buncombe District on 2-hour delay.

Avery County Schools will have a virtual learning day.

Madison County Schools is closed and will have an optional teacher workday.

Yancey County Schools is closed on Monday.

Mitchell County Schools will have remote learning day.
