A woman doctor from Lucknow, identified as Dr Shaheen, was arrested on Monday for her alleged role in a terror module operating in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Authorities recovered an AK-47 rifle from her vehicle during the operation. Dr Shaheen was taken into custody along with seven others, including Kashmiri doctor Muzammil Ganaie, who was apprehended in Faridabad. Following her arrest, Dr Shaheen was transported to Srinagar for further questioning.

Officials reported that the arrests led to the seizure of 2,900 kg of explosives and revealed a so-called "white collar" network associated with the terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The operation was a collaborative effort involving police forces from Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, along with central agencies. Specific details regarding the timing of the arrests were not disclosed due to ongoing investigations.

In a related development, police in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir discovered a significant cache of explosives and weapons in a rented apartment in Faridabad. This followed the arrest of Dr Adil Ahmad Rather from Pulwama, who was detained in Saharanpur. His interrogation led to the identification of Dr Muzammal, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, who was arrested about ten days prior. The search of Dr Muzammal's residence resulted in the recovery of approximately 360 kg of ammonium nitrate, along with various arms and bomb-making materials. The recovered items included an assault rifle with three magazines, 83 live rounds, a pistol with eight live cartridges, and several other explosive components. Authorities believe these materials were intended for large-scale terror attacks.
