Cheltenham Town are set to sign forward Hakeeb Adelakun on a short-term deal until January, Gloucestershire Live understands.
The 6ft 3in 29-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Salford City in the summer.
He scored both of Salford’s goals in their 2-1 home win over Cheltenham last season after going on from the bench, ending the campaign with 13 goals.
Adelakun has previously been on the books of Scunthorpe United, Bristol City - for whom he appeared in the Championship - and Lincoln City, also appearing on loan for Rotherham United, Hull City, Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers.
The Hackney-born player, who can operate across the front line, spent time in the youth set-ups at Crystal Palace and West Ham Unit
