Walking through the halls of this inner-city vertical school, you’d be hard-pressed to find a hallway, room, or quiet study spot that is not dominated by one thing: geese.
The Queensland Academy of the Arts (QACI) – pronounced “quacky”, like the sound of a duck – has produced a gaggle of successful creatives in the 18 years since it opened its doors, including a K-pop star and several alumni now working in Hollywood.
But if it quacks like a duck, why is the campus covered in geese?
Students at the seven-story selective-entry public high school eat lunch at The Blue Goose tuckshop, walk past hallways adorned with goose-headed portraits and avian decals, and tote bird-branded merchandise.
