PHOENIX — A new southbound lane along Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) in Scottsdale has opened as of Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
ADOT said the new lane along Loop 101 is between Princess Drive and Shea Boulevard.
Crews opened the lane after a weekend closure to place pavement markings, including lane stripes and other roadwork.
ADOT said the new southbound lane is part of an ongoing $108 million widening project to add traffic capacity, enhance safety and make other improvements along the freeway.
On Nov. 3, the department opened a new northbound lane along the 4.5-mile project work zone.
The Loop 101 project in Scottsdale began in January 2024 and is scheduled for completion early next year.
