Canacona: In a landmark decision aimed at tackling the menace of stray cattle, the Loliem-Polem Gramsabha has resolved to hand over unclaimed cattle loitering on village and highway roads to the care of a farmer from Anshi in Karnataka’s Karwar district.

The issue of stray cattle causing frequent mishaps, especially along NH-66 and internal village roads, was intensely debated at the Gramsabha meeting. Members expressed concern that the animals not only endanger motorists and pedestrians but also often become victims of accidents themselves.
